حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، وَمُسَدَّدٌ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً، سَوْدَاءَ أَوْ رَجُلاً كَانَ يَقُمُّ الْمَسْجِدَ فَفَقَدَهُ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَسَأَلَ عَنْهُ فَقِيلَ مَاتَ ‏.‏ فَقَالَ ‏"‏

أَلاَّ آذَنْتُمُونِي بِهِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ ‏"‏ دُلُّونِي عَلَى قَبْرِهِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ فَدَلُّوهُ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ ‏.‏

Narrated Abu Hurairah:

A negress (or a youth) used to sweep the mosque. The Prophet (ﷺ) missed him, and when he asked about him the people told him that he had died. He said: Why have you not informed me ? He said: Lead me to his grave. So they led him and he prayed over him.

( كَانَ يَقُمّ ) : بِضَمِّ الْقَاف وَتَشْدِيد الْمِيم. قَالَ الْخَطَّابِيُّ : مَعْنَاهُ يَكْنُس وَالْقُمَامَة الْكُنَاسَة ( فَقَالَ ) : النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ( أَلَا آذَنْتُمُونِي بِهِ ) : أَيْ أَخْبَرْتُمُونِي بِمَوْتِهِ لِأُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهِ ( قَالَ ) : النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ( دُلُّونِي ) : بِضَمِّ الدَّال أَمْر مِنْ الدَّلَالَة ( فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ ) : أَيْ عَلَى قَبْره. قَالَ الْحَافِظ زَادَ اِبْن حِبَّان فِي رِوَايَة حَمَّاد بْن سَلَمَة عَنْ ثَابِت ثُمَّ قَالَ " إِنَّ هَذِهِ الْقُبُور مَمْلُوءَة ظُلْمَة عَلَى أَهْلهَا وَإِنَّ اللَّه يُنَوِّرهَا عَلَيْهِمْ بِصَلَاتِي " وَأَشَارَ إِلَى أَنَّ بَعْض الْمُخَالِفِينَ اِحْتَجَّ بِهَذِهِ الزِّيَادَة عَلَى…

أَنَّهُ أَتَى عَلَى قَبْرٍ مَنْبُوذٍ فَصَفَّهُمْ وَكَبَّرَ أَرْبَعًا‏.‏

Ibn `Abbas (who was at that time a boy) said, "Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came to a grave and the people said, 'He or she was buried yesterday.' " Ibn `Abbas added, "We aligned behind the Prophet (ﷺ) and he led the funeral prayer of the deceased."

فَصَفَّنَا خَلْفَهُ ثُمَّ صَلَّى عَلَيْهَا‏.‏
