حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنِ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، - رضى الله عنها - قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم

يَأْمُرُنَا فِي فَوْحِ حَيْضِنَا أَنْ نَتَّزِرَ ثُمَّ يُبَاشِرُنَا وَأَيُّكُمْ يَمْلِكُ إِرْبَهُ كَمَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَمْلِكُ إِرْبَهُ ‏.‏

'Aishah said; The Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) would ask us in the beginning of our menstruation to tie the waist-wrapper. Then he would embrace us. And who amongst you can have as much control over his desire as the Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) had over his desire?

Al-Azimabadi — Awn al-Ma'bud

( يَأْمُرنَا فِي فَوْح حَيْضَتنَا ) فَوْح بِفَتْحِ الْفَاء وَسُكُون الْوَاو ثُمَّ الْحَاء الْمُهْمَلَة. قَالَ الْخَطَّابِيُّ : فَوْح الْحَيْض مُعْظَمه وَأَوَّله مِثْله فَوْعَة الدَّم , يُقَال فَاحَ وَفَاعَ بِمَعْنًى , وَجَاءَ فِي الْحَدِيث النَّهْي عَنْ السَّيْر فِي أَوَّل اللَّيْل حَتَّى تَذْهَب فَوْعَته يُرِيد إِقْبَال ظُلْمَته كَمَا جَاءَ النَّهْي عَنْ السَّيْر حَتَّى تَذْهَب فَحْمَة الْعِشَاء اِنْتَهَى كَلَامه. وَقَوْلهَا حَيْضَتنَا بِفَتْحِ الْحَاء أَيْ الْحَيْض ( يَمْلِك إِرْبه ) قَالَ الْخَطَّابِيُّ : يُرْوَى عَلَى وَجْهَيْنِ أَحَدهمَا الْإِرْب مَكْسُورَة الْأَلِف وَالْآخَر الْأَرَب مَفْتُوحَة الْأَلِف وَالرَّاء وَكِلَاهُمَا مَعْنَاهُ وَطَر النَّفْس وَحَاجَتهَا اِنْتَهَى. وَالْمُرَاد…

The Prophet (ﷺ) used to embrace me during my menses. He also used to put his head out of the mosque while he was in I`tikaf, and I would wash it during my menses.

Maimunah daughter of Al Harith said “When the Apostle of Allaah(ﷺ) intended to associate and lie with any of his wives who was menstruating, he ordered her to wrap up the lower garment(loin-cloth) and then he had association with her.

أَرَادَ أَنْ يُبَاشِرَ امْرَأَةً مِنْ نِسَائِهِ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ أَمَرَهَا أَنْ تَتَّزِرَ ثُمَّ يُبَاشِرُهَا ‏.‏

(on the authority of his father) `Aisha said: "Whenever Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) wanted to fondle anyone of us during her periods (menses), he used to order her to put on an Izar and start fondling her." `Aisha added, "None of you could control his sexual desires as the Prophet (ﷺ) could."
