حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ، عَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ كُنْتُ

أَتَعَرَّقُ الْعَظْمَ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ، فَأُعْطِيهِ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَيَضَعُ فَمَهُ فِي الْمَوْضِعِ الَّذِي فِيهِ وَضَعْتُهُ وَأَشْرَبُ الشَّرَابَ فَأُنَاوِلُهُ فَيَضَعُ فَمَهُ فِي الْمَوْضِعِ الَّذِي كُنْتُ أَشْرَبُ مِنْهُ ‏.‏

'Aishah said:

I would eat flesh from a bone when I was menstruating, then hand it over to the Prophet(ﷺ) and he would put his mouth where I had put my mouth: I would drink, then hand it over to him, and he would put his mouth( at the place) where I drank.

Classical commentary

Al-Azimabadi — Awn al-Ma'bud

( أَتَعَرَّق الْعَظْم ) يُقَال : عَرَقْت الْعَظْم وَتَعَرَّقْته وَاعْتَرَمْته إِذَا أَخَذْت عَنْهُ اللَّحْم بِأَسْنَانِك , أَيْ آخُذ مَا عَلَى الْعَظْم مِنْ اللَّحْم بِأَسْنَانِي ( فَأُعْطِيه ) أَيْ ذَلِكَ الْعَظْم الَّذِي أَخَذْت مِنْهُ اللَّحْم ( فَيَضَع ) النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ( وَضَعْته ) فَمِي ( فَأُنَاوِلهُ ) أَيْ أُعْطِيه النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. وَهَذَا الْحَدِيث نَصّ صَرِيح فِي الْمُؤَاكَلَة , وَالْمُشَارَبَة مَعَ الْحَائِض وَأَنَّ سُؤْرهَا وَفَضْلهَا طَاهِرَانِ , وَهَذَا هُوَ الصَّحِيح , خِلَافًا لِلْبَعْضِ , كَمَا أَشَارَ إِلَيْهِ التِّرْمِذِيّ , وَهُوَ مَذْهَب ضَعِيف. قَالَ الْمُنْذِرِيُّ : وَأَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِم وَالنَّسَائِيُّ وَابْن مَاجَه…

"I heard 'Aishah say: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would hand me the vessel and I would drink from it, while I was menstruating, then I would give it to him and he would look for the place where I had put my mouth and put that to his mouth.'"

يُنَاوِلُنِي الإِنَاءَ فَأَشْرَبُ مِنْهُ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ ثُمَّ أُعْطِيهِ فَيَتَحَرَّى مَوْضِعَ فَمِي فَيَضَعُهُ عَلَى فِيهِ ‏.‏
