حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي خَلَفٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ الْفَقِيرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بَوَاكِي فَقَالَ ‏"‏

اللَّهُمَّ اسْقِنَا غَيْثًا مُغِيثًا مَرِيئًا مَرِيعاً نَافِعًا غَيْرَ ضَارٍّ عَاجِلاً غَيْرَ آجِلٍ ‏"

Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah:

The people came to the Prophet (ﷺ) weeping (due to drought). He said (making supplication): O Allah! give us rain which will replenish us, abundant, fertilising and profitable, not injurious, granting it now without delay. He (the narrator) said: Thereupon the sky became overcast.

Explanation in Arabic

جئن للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم نساء باكيات من الضيق والشدة وقلة المطر، فاستسقى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وقال: اللهم أنزل علينا مطرًا يحصل لنا به العون والفائدة، هنيئًا، ينبت الربيع، يكون نافعًا وغير ضار، قريبًا غير مؤجل، وقد حصل ذلك عاجلًا فأجاب الله دعاء نبيه عليه الصلاة والسلام، فحصل نزول المطر بغزارة وبكثرة ولله الحمد.

  • إجابة الله عز وجل دعاء نبيه عليه الصلاة والسلام، وهو من دلائل نبوته.

Al-Azimabadi — Awn al-Ma'bud

( أَتَتْ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَوَاكِي ) : جَمْع بَاكِيَة أَيْ جَاءَتْ عِنْد النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نُفُوس بَاكِيَة أَوْ نِسَاء بَاكِيَات لِانْقِطَاعِ الْمَطَر عَنْهُمْ مُلْتَجِئَة إِلَيْهِ , وَهَذِهِ هِيَ الرِّوَايَة الْمَشْهُورَة فِي سُنَن أَبِي دَاوُدَ قَالَ الْمُنْذِرِيُّ : هَكَذَا وَقَعَ فِي رِوَايَتنَا , وَفِي غَيْرهَا مِمَّا شَاهَدْنَاهُ بِالْبَاءِ الْمُوَحَّدَة الْمَفْتُوحَة , وَذَكَرَ الْخَطَّابِيُّ قَالَ : " رَأَيْت النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُوَاكِي " بِضَمِّ الْيَاء بِاثْنَتَيْنِ مِنْ تَحْتهَا. اِنْتَهَى. قُلْت : الْمُوَاكَاة وَالتَّوَكُّؤ وَالِاتِّكَاء وَالتَّحَامُل عَلَى الشَّيْء. قَالَ الْخَطَّابِيُّ فِي الْمَعَالِم :…

Abd Allah b. Zaid al Mazini said: The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) went out to the place of prayer and made supplication or rain, and turned around his cloak when the faced the qiblah.
