Biography of Mishary Rashid Alafasy
Sheikh Mishary bin Rashid Al-Afasy or Mishary Rashid Ghareeb Mohammed Rashed Al-Afasy is a Kuwaiti international-renewed qari, he is born in Kuwait in September 5th, 1976 ( Sunday 11th of Ramadan 1396 H).
He studied Quran in the College of the Holly Quran and Islamic Studies at the Islamic University of Madinah ( Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia), in specialization ' the ten readings and translations of the Holy Quran'. He has read the Quran to Sheikh Ahmed Abdulaziz Al-Zaiat, Sheikh Ibrahim Ali Shahata Al-Samanodei, and the Sheikh Abdurarea Radwan. He impressed number of great scholars of Quran.
Actually Sheikh Mishary Al Afasy, is he Imam of Masjid Al-Kabir (Grand Mosque) in Kuwait City, and every Ramadan he leads the Taraweh prayers in this Mosque.
Recently, Sheikh Mishary bin Rashed Al-Afasy has visited two mosques in the United States of America : the Islamic Center of Irvine (ICOI) in California and the Islamic Center of Detroit (ICD) in Michigan.
Al Afasy has 2 Space Channels specialized in the recitation of the Hol Quran, the first is Alafasy TV and Alafasy Q.
Sheikh Alafasy is married and has two daughters. He's also nicknamed Abu Nora.

I would like to say that my family and I admire your recitation and kirat very much. Mashallah your voice is very pleasant and we pray that Allah (swt) bestow his rahmat and mercy on you. I would like to make one small request though, and that is that you remember us in your prayers and specifically, pray for the success of my mother's sister in finding a good pious muslim for marriage. Please extend this prayer also from the rest of our muslim brothers and sisters as well so that they might find ease in such a task as well. Inshallah Allah (swt) will create ease in our difficulties.

It is no doubt that the voice of sheikh al mishari is one of the most exceptional ones in the world. I hope to see sheikh al afasy as the imam of AL HARAM AL MAKKI within some years inshALLAH. I wish that I also recite the holy quran the way you do it. YOUR voice renders the heart of each and every muslim and compels the person to weep .
I pray that you have a very long life and you keep on reciting the holy quran in even much better voice than what you are doing right now... I salute you, may ALLAH ALMIGHTY shower his blessings on you and your family.

Im so glad to say that you are the only Qari, I listen to everyday. I follow your reading and I find great pleasure in reading the Holy Quran. My 11 year old son and 14 year old daughter also read the quran following your way of recitation. And we love the way you read Surah Al Mulk. Masha Allah, its just wonderful. I'm only seven years old and I only like to listen to your Quran recitation. I have learnt up to Juzu Tabaruk only with your voice on the c.d. I ask you to make Du'a for me and my family and also to all Muslims to become better muslims. And make du'a to save all muslim poor people who are hungry and dying. I love you very much as does my who family. I hope one day i can and would be able to meet you personally (inshallah)
