Biography of Mishary Rashid Alafasy

Sheikh Mishary bin Rashid Al-Afasy or Mishary Rashid Ghareeb Mohammed Rashed Al-Afasy is a Kuwaiti international-renewed qari, he is born in Kuwait in September 5th, 1976 ( Sunday 11th of Ramadan 1396 H).
He studied Quran in the College of the Holly Quran and Islamic Studies at the Islamic University of Madinah ( Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia), in specialization ' the ten readings and translations of the Holy Quran'. He has read the Quran to Sheikh Ahmed Abdulaziz Al-Zaiat, Sheikh Ibrahim Ali Shahata Al-Samanodei, and the Sheikh Abdurarea Radwan. He impressed number of great scholars of Quran.
Actually Sheikh Mishary Al Afasy, is he Imam of Masjid Al-Kabir (Grand Mosque) in Kuwait City, and every Ramadan he leads the Taraweh prayers in this Mosque.
Recently, Sheikh Mishary bin Rashed Al-Afasy has visited two mosques in the United States of America : the Islamic Center of Irvine (ICOI) in California and the Islamic Center of Detroit (ICD) in Michigan.
Al Afasy has 2 Space Channels specialized in the recitation of the Hol Quran, the first is Alafasy TV and Alafasy Q.
Sheikh Alafasy is married and has two daughters. He's also nicknamed Abu Nora.

I would like to say that my family and I admire your recitation and kirat very much. Mashallah your voice is very pleasant and we pray that Allah (swt) bestow his rahmat and mercy on you. I would like to make one small request though, and that is that you remember us in your prayers and specifically, pray for the success of my mother's sister in finding a good pious muslim for marriage. Please extend this prayer also from the rest of our muslim brothers and sisters as well so that they might find ease in such a task as well. Inshallah Allah (swt) will create ease in our difficulties.

As'salaamu alaikum Brother:) When i started my hifz, Allah guided me to chose and listen your recitation and Alhuamdulillah hifz became so easy with the help of your blessed voice. I enjoy your fluency, clear, divinity and melodius voice, tajweed, makhraj etc..When i went for umrah, everywhere i could hear your voice in all the shops in makkah and madinah as they recommend your cds... I immediately thanked Allah that i am following your recitation. My ardent desire is you should recite at Masjid Al Haram and we should join in the prayers, InshaAllah ! I've heard and have seen your recitation in youtube. suddenly I was crying as you were crying during the recitation. it was because of your recitation and the translation provided made me feel so scared by all mistake i've done through my life. I realise how good to be born as moslim, we have learn about Islam since we were small but we sometime just careless & forgot our duty as khalifa in this world. listening to Quran is one way to make us nearer to Allah. It is no doubt that the voice of sheikh al mishari is one of the most exceptional ones in the world. I hope to see sheikh al afasy as the imam of AL HARAM AL MAKKI within some years inshALLAH. I wish that I also recite the holy quran the way you do it. YOUR voice renders the heart of each and every muslim and compels the person to weep .

I am 11 years old and i must say that your Qirat is Mashallah very nice.When my sister got her new phone the qirat of Surah al Tariq(by Mishary Rashid Al Afasy) was in it.Me and my sister listened to it very much.I got selected in my Quran Competition because of your qirat.I was wishing that on the day of the Competition they would ask me to recite Surah al Tariq and I would then definitely win but unfortunately they asked me another surah.And i lost.I just dont beleive that your qirat is so nice and also your tajweed.I wish you come and recite in Masjid Al Haram.(Inshallah)

I really admire the recitation of Sheikh Mishary Alafasy.I am really speechless about its tone and rhythm. I heard a few other recitations but i never found them so spiritual. After listening to Alafasy's recitation, i got interested in The Holy Quran. I started listening to it in spare time, and after listening to Surah al Naba, I started reading TRANSLATION of Holy Qur'an. In other words, It was his recitation who made me read, listen to, learn, and read the translation of Qura'n. May Allah bless him with the best in this world as well as the world hereafter.

You recite Quraan from the core of your heart and that's why it touches directly the heart of the people, I wish I could have the voice like you. Sheikh Mishary's recitation is the best in the world and I believe when I listen his recitation at night in loneliness his voice creates communion between me and my Allah. May Allah bless him. His voice is the voice of Jannah and if Allah forgives my sins and enters me into Paradise with His Blessing, I shall wish to meet Sheikh Mishary there and listening Quran from him will be a great joy there also. I have used the Quran explorer to listen and read the translation of the Quran by brother Rashid during Ramadan, and ask Allah to help me continue the lecture until it is time for me to leave this world. Please help find a way to have a cd of the Quran if I can have it with the english translation please let me know how to do the payment I would appreciate. I don't have ability to comment about you, I just wanna say that I'm a taxi driver and trying to listening the quran from 630 am band of kuwait radio, everyday I'm keeping wait for your voice and when I found your voice I drive slowly with bite more sound and I put my hand on my heart and I try to forget everything for a while to give attention on your voice.
