Biography of Salah Al Hashem

Salah Al Hashem

Sheikh Salah Al Hashem is a Kuwaiti reader and chanter, and is one of the “Imams” in the Grand Mosque in Kuwait.

He was born in 1980, and he memorized the whole Quran at the age of 12 years old only. He is also the creator of the “Calendar of Hashem” application, which is used in mobile phones.

Sheikh Salah Al Hashem began memorizing the Quran from an early age. His mentors and teachers were Sheikh Nasser Al-Othman and Sheikh Adnan Abdul Qadir. Also; the first Surah he learned was Surat “Maryam”; he later on completed the memorization of the Holy Quran and obtained his license from Sheikh Khamis bin Abdel Azim. He read the Koran with several methods and he obtained an assignment connected to the prophet (peace and prayer be upon him).

Sheikh Salah Al Hashem used to listen to senior Egyptian sheikhs of “Tajweed” such as Mahmoud Khalil Al Husary and Mahmud Ali Al Banna and Muhammad Siddiq Al Minshawi. And according to him; this is what helped him to excel in the Tajweed of the Holy Quran.

He later on took the leading (imamat) in numerous different Mosques; most notably the Grand Mosque in Kuwait during the period from 2002 to 2005. He also led the “Tarawih” and “Al Qiyaam” prayers in Maryam Al Qutami Mosque in the “Shuwaikh” region.

Sheikh Salah Al Hashem was behind the "Calendar of Hashem" service; which is a mobile phone private service that is based on multimedia “MMS”. It is considered as a very popular application in both Kuwait and Saudi Arabia and it is regarded as the first acoustic “audio” Islamic calendar in the world.

Sheikh Salah Al Hashem has a full recording of the Holy Quran, alongside with a set of Quranic releases characterized with many different recitation “Tajweed” methods.

As he also released many albums of Islamic “Nasheeds” or “anthems”; such as the album “I am the poor”, the album “I came to you”, and also the album “Labbaik”.
