Biography of Yahya Hawwa

Yahya Hawwa

A Syrian vocalist and reciter, born in Hama in 1976 March 15th, known with his songs about Syrian revolution, and all of his songs are about human values and rights, he’s nicknamed “the optimistic vocalist”.

Yahia Hawwa grew and studied in Mecca until his graduation from high school, and he also learnt the Quran there.

After the death of his father in the famous massacre of Hama at the time of the president Hafez Al Assad, he moved to Jordan to continue his studies there. He studied the Sharia, Islamic Jurisprudence at the University of Zarqa and graduated in 2003, he also had a master degree in Psychology. In parallel with his studies, he took the role of Imam in Katouli mosque in Oman between 1999 and 2003. He’s married and a father of Huda and Mohammed.

Yahia Hawwa took up the chanting in 1994 under the influence of the senior vocalists and learnt their songs, such as Abu Jood and Abu Dojana. after releasing his Album “the Optimistic”, he was nicknamed as the optimistic vocalist which was a pride for him.

He issued many albums in the last 7 years, which was respectively “your paradises", "people's hearts", "Be with me" and "optimistic". He also recorded a set of Quranic recitations, such as “Yusuf “, “Yassin”, “As-saffat”, “Al-kahf”, “Adh-Dhariyat”, and part of the Quran Completion prayers. Yahia Hawwa was able to record the whole Quran after, in addition to that, he broadcasted some video clips, in some TV channels during the holy Ramadan of 1428.

Yahya participated in many television programs, mainly the program "with Yahya" on the channel “Hayatona” in which he was hosting many singers. He turned around a number of countries where he established festivals, such as Jeddah, UK, Algeria, and Mecca.

    1. clear and beautiful voice
    2. the words are clearly heard, as if it could be seen on the paper,

    holy quran by himself
