Date of the first day of Ramadan 1445/2024 in Turkey

The Turks celebrate the holy month “Ramadan” in an atmosphere of joy and gladness, where the streets are fully crowded at night, and the mosques are lit with lights from “Al Maghreb” prayers to “Dawn” prayers, this is called “Mahya”. Also, the famous city Istanbul is known for the Quran readings in its mosques, especially in “Topkapi” palace, where the holy Quran is recited day and night without a break.

One of the most familiar manifestations in Turkey during Ramadan is when the children line up before “Al Iftar” time in order to get the fresh out of the oven “Baida” bread that is special to this month. The Iftar table in Turkey is known for the diversity and variety of its dishes that is mainly based on dates, olives, cheese, hot soup, and several sweets such as “Al Kanafa”, “Baklawa”, “Al Katayif”, and “Al Gelash”.
